Unfortunately it seems Coach Terry Hoeppner is having more health issues that are going to sideline him from Spring Practice. This is the second occurrence as coach of IU that he's been away from the team due to his health.
IU's Athletic Director, Rick Greenspan, sums up all of our feelings on this matter and helps put things into perspective: "Coach Hoeppner has indicated a need to take some time to regain his strength and energy and to receive proper medical care," IU athletic director Rick Greenspan said in a statement. "We have encouraged Terry to make his family and health a top priority. All of us are hopeful for a quick and full recovery, with coach Hoeppner returning to lead the Indiana football program."
One thing that definitely crosses my mind on this situation is the shadow of doubt that is cast upon the longevity of Hoeppner's future as head coach of Indiana. He seems like an emerging star in the coaching world, and I sure hope health issues don't hurt his potential. We wish Coach Hoeppner the best and wish for a speedy recovery.
